Operations
Description The WEIMA WL 4 is a compact single-shaft industrial shredder designed for reducing the size and volume of recyclable and residual materials. Commonly used in manufacturing, woodworking and recycling facilities, it processes timber waste, MDF, particleboard, paper, cardboard and similar materials into a consistent output suitable for recycling, briquetting, energy recovery or more efficient storage and transport. Its robust construction and compact footprint make it ideal for SMEs seeking to improve waste management and resource recovery.
Operating Principles Material is loaded into the hopper manually, mechanically or via conveyor. A hydraulically driven ram feeds material into WEIMA's patented V-rotor, where rotating knives cut against a stationary counter-knife. The shredded material passes through a screen to achieve a consistent particle size. Automatic load-controlled feeding maximises throughput while reducing energy consumption and preventing blockages. The system delivers reliable volume reduction, lower disposal costs and improved material handling efficiency.
